COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE FARMS (CSAs)
What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership of mutual commitment between a farm and a community of supporters ("shareholders" or "members") which provides a direct link between the production and consumption of food. Each season the shareholders provide the money (and sometimes other resources) needed for the farm to operate by purchasing a " share" of the season's harvest. CSA has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. CSA fosters responsible relationships between the grower, the consumer, the food, and the land on which the food is grown.
If shares are no longer available in this year, prospective shareholders may be able to sign up on the waiting list for the following year.
